Hi, I’m Anish, the director of Morris Care. My journey began as a support worker, where I spent years assisting individuals with mental health challenges and disabilities. During this time, my passion for making a positive impact grew immensely.
While working closely with participants, I realized that while helping one person at a time was rewarding, I wanted to extend my support to many. This vision inspired me to create Morris Care in 2022—a place dedicated to fostering safe spaces and meaningful group activities for those in need.
At Morris Care, we embrace a person-centered approach, focusing on empowering participants to achieve their goals. Our commitment is reflected in our milestones, including securing permanent accommodation for four individuals experiencing homelessness in 2024.
Morris Care is driven by a pure passion for mental health and disability support, and we’re proud to continue this meaningful journey of making a difference.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a government-funded program in Australia that provides support and funding to individuals with disabilities to help them achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
To be eligible for NDIS services, you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa, be aged under 65 years, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to take part in everyday activities.
The NDIS covers a wide range of supports and services, including assistance with daily living, transportation, home modifications, community participation, and capacity-building activities. It focuses on providing individualized supports based on your personal goals and needs.
To apply, you can contact the NDIS directly through their website or by calling 1800 800 110. You will need to complete an Access Request Form and provide information about your disability and its impact on your daily life.
Assistance with Daily Living includes support with personal care (such as showering, dressing, and grooming), household chores, meal preparation, shopping, and assistance with moving around your home or community.
NDIS funding can be used for activities that promote social inclusion, build relationships, and develop life skills, such as attending community events, joining social groups, or participating in recreational activities.
Yes, the NDIS allows participants to choose their own service providers based on their preferences and needs. You can switch providers at any time if you feel your needs are not being met.
Core Supports help with daily activities, transport, consumables, and social participation, while Capacity Building Supports focus on developing skills and independence over time, such as improved daily living skills, employment, or community participation.
Your NDIS plan will outline the types of funded supports you are eligible for, based on your goals and needs. If you’re unsure about what is covered, you can contact your Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or Plan Manager for guidance.
You can choose to self-manage your funds, have a Plan Manager handle them, or use NDIS agency management. Each option has different levels of flexibility and control, so you can choose the best option that suits your situation.
If your needs or circumstances change, you can request a plan review with the NDIS. This can be done at any time, and you will be able to adjust your supports and funding accordingly.
Who can help me understand my NDIS plan and connect me with services?
A Local Area Coordinator (LAC), Support Coordinator, or Plan Manager can assist you in understanding your plan, finding providers, and organizing the supports and services included in your NDIS funding.
