We’re seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Support Worker from a diverse background to join our growing team. Our participants come from various age groups, cultures, and abilities, and our Support Workers play an essential role in ensuring their well-being. Through mentorship and hands-on support, our team help participants navigate their daily lives, attend important appointments, and develop greater independence. Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Participant-Centred Support: Actively listen to participants, creating opportunities and activities that align with their interests and goals.

  • Skill Development: Encourage shared learning experiences and promote skill-building through self-directed learning, education, and guidance.
  • Direct Service Delivery: Provide personalized support tailored to the individual needs of each participant.
  • Personal Care: Assist with daily living activities such as hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
  • Domestic Assistance: Help with cooking, cleaning, laundry, and other household tasks.
  • Social Support: Facilitate grocery shopping, social outings, and engagement in the community.
  • Transportation: Provide transport for community access and medical appointments.

What you can offer:

Qualifications & Experience:
Relevant Certificate in Individual Support or Disability with at least 12 months of related experience, OR 2 years of full-time experience in mental health support.

Empathy & Understanding: A strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with lived experience of mental health issues.

Essential Credentials:
NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue Card.
Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
Valid Driver’s License, with access to a reliable vehicle and comprehensive car insurance.
Flexibility & Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to the unique demands of the industry and accommodate the needs of clients.

Communication Skills: Professional, clear verbal and written communication to effectively support and advocate for your clients.

Willingness to Travel: Ability to work from various locations across Brisbane as needed.

COVID-19 considerations:

All Support workers will comply with current COVID-19 rules and updates. You are required to hold the double dose vaccinations – COVID-19 Certificate in the disability sector as per QLD Health directives.
